Thought I'd post them here:

"the B47 replaced the B36 but neither saw combat. They were both out of the picture by thetime the B52 came in. It was used in Vietnam.

The B36 was like the B29, that I flew, except it was much larger.(crawl tube over the bombbay)

When we came back from Japan they assigned us all to the the B47 which I wanted no part of
(we were called Obseverss which was the bombardier, radar man, and navigator)
One guy did all of that in the B47 at twice the speed. I was able to get out of it because I did not have enough time left to complete all the requirements.

Hooray said I

There was a B45 that nobody ever heard of. They made seven of them and they were the pre B47 and were not put into service because the B47 was better. (they were the first jet bombers)

How do I know this? They flew out of the same base that I was at in Japan
They were recon planes and flew over Korea and CHINA and brought back target info if and when
we should go after China. They could outclimb the Russian Migs flown by the North Koreans
(and some Chinese and Russian pilots as well) So they would fly in til they were spotted
then climb out of the country and come back., Sometimes they had Lighting damage
which looked suspiciously like bullet holes We were not supposed to know what they did.

I had the pleasure of practice bomb runs on Chinese targets. We didn't do that either

Hooray said I"Christopher Lloydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00912714677164687899noreply@blogger.com
