Things are slowing down just a little bit this week, which is just fine with me.
I'll have a review of "District 9," a low-budget (by summer blockbuster standards, anyway) sci-fi thriller about aliens coming to live on this planet. Also one of "Adam," a quirky romantic comedy.
The DVD review will be the Oscar-nominated "The Class." And I'll have Reeling Backward columns on "The Grapes of Wrath" and "A Star is Born." That's the 1937 version, not the '54 or '76 versions with Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, respectively.
